How to best use XLSTAT on large data volume

Which are the limits of the 32-bit Excel?

32-bit Windows applications are limited to 2 gigabytes (GB) of addressable memory. For Microsoft Excel, this means that the memory usage includes Excel itself, any other add-ins you may have, plus your worksheet size. It is therefore quite likely that you’ll reach the limit of the 2GB addressable memory.

If you are using an Excel file with large volume of data, the worksheet size will be bigger, and it will require more resources from XLSTAT to complete the calculation. In consequence, you will be limited in using XLSTAT properly and error messages will pop up.

On the other hand, you will not come across with such issues when using the 64-bit Office version. The only limit may be your PC's memory and system resources.

How to install the 64-bit Excel version?

If you have already installed XLSTAT on 32-bit Excel, please follow the below steps carefully:

• Uninstall XLSTAT.

• Download and run the Cleaner tool.

• Uninstall Office properly, following the instructions for your Office version preferably from the Microsoft website.

• Restart the computer.

• Install Office again. For Microsoft 365 users, you may go to the Apps & devices section of your Microsoft account, select the proper language and the 64-bit version of Microsoft Office.
